Vice President of the Board

The Vice President shall assist the President and shall have such powers and perform such duties and services as shall from time to time be prescribed or delegated to such office by the President or the Board of Directors to ensure the Corporation is operating as intended. The Vice President shall take on President roles and responsibilities when President is unable to, such as vacation, family emergencies, etc. The Vice President shall work with the Treasurer to request and apply for grants as they become available. The Vice President has the authority to delegate Grant Writing to a volunteer of the Corporation but shall ensure the grant deadlines and follow-up criteria are being adhered to. The Vice President shall also assist the Secretary as needed with e-mails to ensure everyone is responded to. The Vice President shall oversee the Event Coordinator and will work directly with them to ensure events are feasible for the Corporation’s Mission. The Vice President shall further take on the Event Coordinator’s role if this volunteer position is vacant.

Application Processor(s): Reviews application after being assigned. Works directly with Application Coordinator if any questions arise. Calls references and reports findings to coordinator.

Event Coordinator
If this is the role for you, email us a short note expressing your interest.
Event Coordinator (Ideally Texas Resident but not necessary): Finds events that the rescue can attend. Works with Vice President to ensure event is feasible. If so, applies for entry to event and is the point of contact on all matters related to the event. Event coordinator will also recruit volunteers to attend and assign shifts as required. Maintains logs of when events are and whom is going. Dogs in the rescue’s care will always have first selection if limited on dogs.
